What is a wealth psychologist?
A wealth psychologist is a mental health professional who specializes in issues relating specifically to an individual’s relationship to money and how this relationship influences other key areas of life. Wealth psychologists are also called money psychologists or wealth counselors. They may advise on the dynamics which can arise for families concerning inheritance issues, or they may counsel parents on how to raise children who are not spoiled by money.
Did you know there are 8 characteristics which guide your money decisions? These characteristics are the ‘roots and wings’ in 5 key areas of your life: financially, professionally, physically, relationally, and emotionally. Consequently, money is actually at the heart of every decision you make.
We all have a ‘money story’ that begins when we are very young. This story underlies lifelong patterns of how we respond to money as well as those life situations that have the potential to negatively impact our business, our relationships and our bottom line.
The ‘money story’ is based on the concept of ‘Archetypal patterns’. Identifying unique patterns helps people recognize the power within their own stories – stories that speak to fears and motivations; stories that also lead to better perspective. And these stories almost always begin when very young.
